Conkered!

I’ve just witnessed one of the best results i’ve ever seen….

It has been another great week around the lakes, the fishing has been a bit slower recently but still the lakes produce something special on almost a daily basis, combine that with a great atmosphere around the fishery and you’re getting the picture.

This week, a very good friend of ours, Sean Kelly, and his girlfriend Donna Bonnett came to fish on Angele for the week. In truth, Sean had his mind on having a social with us and some unfinished business with another lake, so while he chilled out, Donna proceeded to put together one of the best catches i think i’ll ever see.

Angele has 100′s of very nice looking fish but even amongst 500+ very nice carp there’s always the real gems. I’d personally say that 15-20 of the fish in Angele are those gems, extra special fish.

Well, amongst Donna’s catch, i’d say she caught 4 of them!!

There was a half linear with big scales that had remained uncaught, Donna caught it.

There must be well over 100 commons well worth catching but the one Donna caught is another previously uncaught fish that oozes  character, i didn’t see this fish on the bank but Sean was very excited about it.

He’s now called “Conker”!

There’s a few linears in the lake and all of them are amazing fish but 2 in particular are in the gem bracket, Donna caught one!.

Another fish that i would personally love to catch is a scaley fish that i’d only ever seen 1 photo of, she had that too!

She pretty much cleaned up with a 26lbcommon/33lbmirror brace then a 53lb cat and a few other high 20′s before leaving this morning, Well done Donna that was amazing girl!
